What is the most dangerous bird to humans? The cassowary of New Guinea and Australia, a large ground dwelling bird, has powerful legs and a knife-like claw that can rip a man open with one swipe.

What is the biggest bird in the world? Ostriches of Africa hold the record weight, can reach 345 pounds and over 8 feet in height.

Can birds fly backwards? Hummingbirds are the only birds that can fly backwards. Their wings move in a rotating motion, which also allows them to hover in one spot.

What bird flys the slowest? The American woodcock can fly at an unbelievably slow 5 mph without stalling.
